Hi everyone,
This morning after our meditation we learned about how adverbs can really change the meaning of a sentence. To demonstrate this the kids worked in pairs to fill in the blanks of a paragraph with adverbs. Afterwards, we all ready the paragraphs aloud and noticed how different the meanings were with the variety of adverbs chosen by each group. After library we started Unit 8 in Science, talking about physical changes in matter. The test has been rescheduled for tomorrow. I know how exhausted I was last night so I didn't expect the kids to stay up studying. I hope everyone got a good rest and studied over the past weekend so that tonight you can just review and sleep early. In Social Studies we talked about the Korean war. At the end of the day we learned how to write Creature Alliteration Poems. We had a pretty fun time writing all about our little Johnian creature. During ECA, students had a chance to either work on their grammar homework or get started on writing their own, individual, creature alliteration poem. Whichever they did not finish is for homework.
