Please follow these steps:
1. You will create your own poetry book cover. You may hand
draw this or create it using the computer. Include a title for your poetry
collection, your name, grade, and the year. There must be an
illustration or clip art added to the cover. You may choose from one of the following titles: My Poetry Anthology, My Poetry Collection
2. Table of Contents (list all of the poem types and the pages that they are on. Remember, only one poem per page).
3. Edit your poems to see if you can make them even better.
4. Make sure there is one poem per page. You can choose the font and size for each poem. You must include the type of poetry at the top of each page as well as a title of your poem.
5. Each poem must include a colored illustration. Illustrations may be hand drawn or printed from a computer clip art program.
6.You will read three poems written by other authors and give your opinion on them. Please search for four different types of poems by different authors. The title of this page will be Poems I Read. Please copy and paste the poem and make sure to include the author and the the title. Underneath the poem you can write a few lines to tell what you think of the poem and how it made you feel.

7. Next will be a reflection page. The title will be Poetry Reflection. Here are some questions to help you:
Write a few thoughts explaining your feelings about writing poetry.
Did you learn some new things?
Which poems did you enjoy most?
Did your feelings about poetry change as you completed this unit?
Did you have fun writing the
poems?
Which poems were your favorites?
Did your mind change from the beginning
of the unit to the end of this unit?
Which poems were the most difficult to write? Why?
Include any other comments or feelings you
have about poetry.
8. The last page will be called About the Author. Please write a paragraph about yourself. You can include things like, your name, age, where you were born, your family, your grade, YOUR TEACHER! Please also include how long you have been writing poetry for, whether you prefer to read or write poetry, and what inspires you when writing poetry.
