Monday September 19, 2016

Welcome back everyone!

This morning at assembly the grade four's did an absolutely FANTASTIC job presenting the virtue of friendship to the school. All on their own they wrote an acrostic poem, chose a short film about friendship, and made a beautiful friend ship. I am so proud of all of you, keep up the great work!

After assembly I gave students this week's vocabulary words from Lesson 5 in Journeys. After we discussed the meaning of the words we started to read the new story together. We were charting the plot elements as we went and the students did a great job participating.

During Math class we learned how to subtract whole numbers up to five digits. After the lesson we had a lot of time for extra practice and one on one teaching. We are getting close to the end of this chapter so please come see me if anything is confusing or difficult for you.

In Science class we focused on comparing and contrasting vascular and non-vascular plants. The students worked together to make a t chart with information about each type.

At the end of the day we spent some time practicing for our presentation of the labor movement reader's theater tomorrow. Mr.Y and the grade 3 students will be coming to our classroom for a special show!

Thanks for the fun today everyone, have a great night and see you all tomorrow.
