Tuesday August 9, 2016

Good afternoon all,

We had a successful second day in fourth grade!

This morning in Math talked about the different uses of numbers and practiced using the vocabulary, position, measure, label and count. In Science we talked about what scientists do. During Reading class we read our first Journeys story aloud and learned ten new vocabulary words. In Social Studies we started our chapter on immigration by talking about Ellis Island. We will start raising the intensity of the classes and students will have homework each night once everyone has brought their supplies to school.

Tomorrow is Wednesday and students will have their first P.E. class of the year. They are to come to school in their P.E. uniforms and bring an extra, clean P.E. shirt to change into after class. If they haven't already, they also need to bring a small towel to dry off after class.

Important News & Reminders:
  • Please do your best to bring all school supplies, class fund, and lunch fees to class by Friday August 12. The earlier everyone brings in their supplies the earlier we can get rolling with all our learning activities!
Homework:
  1. Get school supplies!
  2. Sign up for Class Dojo
  3. Look at the handbook (especially the section on dress code) and sign and return the last page
  4. Fill our the elective form if you haven't already
  5. Bring lunch and class fees
