Happy hump day everyone!

This morning after our meditation we went over last night's article homework. We then moved on to writing class where we talked about compare and contrast essays. After the lesson, to practice, students worked in partners or small groups reading task cards and comparing and contrasting the information on them. In Social Studies we talked about the Soviet Union and in Science we talked about clouds and precipitation.
Thanks for the good day munchkins!

HOMEWORK:

LANGUAGE:

*Following the outline and notes in your Work on Writing Notebook, write a compare and contrast essay about lizards vs salamanders. Your essay should be 4 paragraphs (introduction, similarities, differences, conclusion)

Many people think that salamanders are a type of lizard because they both have long tails and short legs. However, a salamander is not a lizard at all! Salamanders are a type of amphibian, whereas lizards are a type of reptile. Lizards have dry scaly skin. By contrast, a salamander's skin is smooth and moist. Unlike a lizard, a salamander must spend most of its life in the water.

***Don't forget to double space and indent between your paragraphs!
*Each paragraph should be about 4-5 sentences.
*If you need more information, use google! Here are a couple websites to get you started (Remember you may NOT copy, you have to put everything into your own words)

*SPELL CHECK.

**Here is a great example of a compare and contrast essay. Read it and then use it as a guide to help you write each paragraph.
