Wednesday November 16, 2016

Hi everyone,

We started off the morning with a quick run through for our Student Showcase presentation. During Science class we talked about SO many different things! Natural resources, green energy, dams, and watersheds to name a few. We got onto the topic of reduce, reuse, and recycle and I gave students a challenge to create something out of only recycled materials! We will be holding a Recyclable Art Show on Monday November 21. I can't wait to see what you all come up with! During Social Studies we talked about the Great Depression. At the end of the day we went up to the computer lab and students edited their narratives. The goal I gave them was to add at least 5 awesome adjectives or vivid verbs to their story.

Important Reminder:
*Thanksgiving sheets are due on Friday November 18. Please remember to write what kind of desert or drink you will be bringing. Remember to try and bring a serving of 10-12. Thank you! If you are not attending the Thanksgiving lunch please return the form saying so.

HOMEWORK:

READING:

*The rest of The Witches must be read and the questions must be responded to by next Friday November 25

LANGUAGE:

*Pronoun Quiz tomorrow (Unit 6)

*If you did not finish editing your personal narrative, please fix it up. Add at least 5 awesome adjectives or vivid verbs and make sure it is at least 250 words. Challenge yourself to make it longer, more descriptive, and more interesting! You must email it to me by Friday.

MATH:

*Workbook page 44

SCIENCE:

*Recyclable Art Show due Monday November 21

Think of different ways to turn used materials into art. Your challenge is to make something out of recyclable materials. It can be something for decoration or something that we can use in our classroom or in your home. We will hold an Art Show on Monday November 21. You must explain to the class what you made, and what materials you used. BE CREATIVE!

***The word of the day is RECYCLE!***
