Friday November 11, 2016

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday everyone!

This morning we read The Witches and then had an extra long and vigorous Math class. Students worked hard and we were able to figure out how to multiply one digit numbers by two and three digit numbers. This should help make last night's IXL practice easier for you to understand. In Social Studies we talked about the Harlem Renaissance. During the afternoon we had a rehearsal for Student Showcase.

HOMEWORK & Important Reminders:

In regards to the form I sent home yesterday about Thanksgiving Mass and Lunch, please specify on the Thanksgiving paper what kind of drinks or dessert you will be bringing. Also, we ask that you bring about 10-12 servings of your dish/drink. That way we can all eat, drink and be full and merry! =)

MATH:

*Upcoming Chapter 6 Math Test on Tuesday November 15

*The study guide is up on the blog here:

*Workbook page 39 and 41

LANGUAGE:

*Vocab quiz on Monday November 14

*Witches writing assignment
Please write in your neatest handwriting and check all of your spelling and grammar. The goal is to have this as a piece of writing in your portfolio. Use as many awesome adjectives or vivid verbs as possible. You have many of these in your Work on Writing notebook but you may also google them or go to dictionary.com and look for synonyms of boring adjectives and verbs in the thesaurus section of the website. Make this creative and exciting to read!

*Pronoun quiz on Thursday November 17 (Unit 6 of English Textbook)

OTHER:

*Finish the hand cut out for Ms,Parker. It needs to have your name written nicely on the front and then decorated/colored.

Wayside Stories Costumes:

Please bring these on Monday so we have a bit of time if we need to change anything.

All Narrators: Please bring your regular formal school uniforms

Mickey and Ayrton: Please bring regular clothes. Jeans and a tshirt is fine.

Yoko: Ask your mom to help you find an outfit from your clothes that looks like a "teacher"

Fiona: You can wear any regular clothes but nothing too "girly". Maybe just jeans and a plain tshirt?

Marianne: Can you also try to find a teacher type outfit?

Nathan: Do you have a striped or checkered button up shirt? That would be great for your Louis part

***The word of the day is BUSY!***
