Friday November 18, 2016

Good afternoon everyone,

This morning in Math class we reviewed yesterday's lesson and then moved on to multiplying three digit numbers by two digit numbers. Remember to go slowly, write nicely, and line up your place value columns when doing your homework tonight! Afterwards we made an editing checklist for students to use while working on their narratives. We went up to the classrooms with the checklists and the kids worked on editing and adding to their stories. I was impressed seeing all of the improvements! During Social Studies, we sat in a discussion circle to continue talking about the Great Depression. The kids had a lot of great questions, keep them coming everyone!

Thank you for a FANTASTIC presentation at Student Showcase. I am beyond proud of you!!!

I will post photos on Monday. Have a great weekend sweet peas!

HOMEWORK:

LANGUAGE:

*Use your checklist to edit and add to your personal narratives. Remember, there should be a main idea for each paragraph and the story should go in order from the beginning to the end. You should have at least 250 words but I really believe you should all challenge yourself to write 400. You can do it!

READING:

*The rest of The Witches must be read and the questions must be responded to by next Thursday November 24 (Friday is a holiday for Thanksgiving). Please check here because I have updated the questions and added some for the last 3 chapters.

MATH:

*Workbook page 48.
You may use a piece of scrap paper to do all of the calculations and then just copy the answer into your workbook.

SCIENCE:

*Recyclable Art Show due Monday November 21

Think of different ways to turn used materials into art. Your challenge is to make something out of recyclable materials. It can be something for decoration or something that we can use in our classroom or in your home. We will hold an Art Show on Monday November 21. You must explain to the class what you made, and what materials you used. BE CREATIVE!

***The word of the day is CHOCOLATE!***
