Wednesday October 19, 2016

Hi everyone,

This morning we spent some time practicing for the Language Festival/Student Showcase. Afterwards we continued our great discussions on adaptations in Science. Today we learned about the different adaptations needed for flowing vs still water sources. During Social Studies class we had a great lesson about the causes of World War 1 and began to discover why the United States entered the war. Hint: A pop quiz may be in the near future so make sure you are reviewing your Social Studies notes often! =)

Important Reminders:

* Tomorrow is our Living Rosary Mass so please be on time for school and be dressed in your clean, regular school uniforms. Mass will begin at 8:35 am.

2. Cut out the box, and cut along the 4 dotted lines to make flaps

3. For number 5, draw a picture of your animal, with its adaptations, in its new environment (use color and feel free to use the whole page, the more effort you put in, the more points you will get)

4. You may choose to cut and paste the title "Animal Adaptations" onto your paper, or to write it in marker or pen.

5. Don't forget your name, number, and date

***
Choose a wild animal. Spell its name correctly. (and remember you will have to draw it at the end!)

1.      Tell what habitat it is from.

2.& 3.     Pretend you are moving that animal out of its natural habitat and into a different one. Which new habitat will you choose? How will your animal be affected by this change?

4.     What new physical and behavioral adaptations will your animal need to make to survive in its new habitat? You must include at least 1 physical and 1 behavioral adaptation.

*If you are confused about adaptations, look in your notebook, textbook, or watch one of the videos below:
