are types of weather?
Vocabulary:
weather, humidity, air pressure, cirrus, stratus, cumulus, and cumulonimbus
clouds
*Identify factors that
make up weather (air temperature, humidity, air pressure, and precipitation)
*Explain how weather
conditions are measured.
*Describe what causes
wind to blow.
*Understand that air
participles are closer together in cold air than in warmer air
*Be able to explain how
a cloud is formed.
*Know the differences
between types of clouds and what weather they can predict.
*Explain the different
types of precipitation and how they form.
*Describe how clouds
are formed.
Lesson
3: How is weather predicted?
Vocabulary: air mass, front
*Explain how air masses
form.
*Explain how fronts
affect/change weather.
*Explain how meteorologists
get data/information about the weather.
*Explain how hurricanes
are formed.
*Explain why it is
important for people’s lives and safety to be able to predict the weather.
Unit 6 Earth & Space
Lesson
1 How do the Sun, Earth, and Moon interact?
*Vocabulary: interact,
rotate, axis, orbit, constellation
*How do the Sun, Earth,
and Moon interact?
*Describe the movements
of Earth, the moon, and the sun in space
*Explain how the
rotation of Earth causes day and night
*Recognize that seasons
result from the tilt and orbit of Earth around the sun
Lesson
2 Moon Phases

waxing crescent, waxing gibbous, waning gibbous, waning crescent
*Name
(and spell correctly) all 8 phases of the moon
*Identify and predict
changes in the appearance of the moon
*Draw and correctly
label each of the moon phases in the correct order
