We spent a good part of the day organizing our notebooks and going over rules and expectations for each class. In Language we did some parts of speech review, focusing on nouns, verbs, and adjectives. Next we talked about complete sentences and figured out how to pick out the subjects and predicates. In Science we set up our notebooks and went over the vocabulary from yesterday's lesson. During Social Studies we set up our notebooks and talked more about Ellis Island. During Reading class they once again set up their notebooks and copied down the definitions for the first set of vocabulary words. I introduced the word work activities that they will be required to do each week and once we start Daily 2 next week they will jump right in!

Important news & reminders:
- All students are required to check the blog each and every day! It is a part of your daily homework.
- Grade 4 students must bring an extra P.E. or Sports Day shirt to school on P.E. days. If the extra shirt is a Sports Day shirt they must wear it only during the P.E. class and wear the regular P.E. shirt before and after.
- All students must bring a small towel to keep at school so they can dry off after running around.
Homework:
- Make 10 sentences with Journeys vocabulary words
- Bring in signed handbook form, lunch and class fees
