This morning in Grammar we learned about pronouns. Specifically how to differentiate between singular and plural, and subject and object pronouns. Afterwards we practiced identifying pronouns in sentences, and replacing nouns with appropriate pronouns in writing.
During Science class we continued talking about how animals are adapted physically and behaviorally to their environments. We compared and contrasted adaptations for living in grasslands vs forests and watched a short video on forests and rainforests. Thanks for your wonderful participation everyone, what a great class!
Later on in the morning we went up to the computer lab and students began to type up their writing assignments after the peer editing session they had last week. I was impressed with how quietly they got to work and continued working for the entire period. Good job!
During Math class we reviewed dividing with remainders and then learned clues for how to decide which operation we need to perform to find the answer to problems.
In Social Studies we moved on to Chapter 13 and had our first lesson on the causes of World War 1. The new vocabulary words we learned were alliances, imperialism, militarism, and nationalism. I encourage students to review this lesson at home over the next few days to make sure they understand. If there are any questions please come see me for extra help!
