Thursday December 8, 2016

Happy Friday everyone! Sorry I couldn't post on the blog yesterday, the internet was down at the end of the day.

Here is a quick recap of Thursday: We hosted Christmas Mass and all the students did a great job. Thank you! Afterwards we had a lesson on how to write well sequenced paragraphs.

This morning we started to explore writing compare and contrast essays. Students used their notes from The Witches movie and began to fill out a pre-writing organizer to compare and contrast the movie with the book. Later we did some thorough Math review for the upcoming exam. Once our book order arrived I couldn't resist but them all cuddle up and read for the last 20 minutes of the period. =) In the afternoon we did more exam review!

I ordered a ton of new books for the classroom and the order finally arrive today! Christmas came early! It was so great to see how excited all of the kids were. Some of our new additions include, The Narnia Chronicles (6 pack), an atlas, Peter Pan, books about animals, volcanoes, the solar system and dinosaurs, and boosk about World War 1 and World War 2! WE LOVE READING!

Monday December 5, 2016

Hi everyone,

Today marks the beginning of a very busy two weeks until Christmas holiday. Please make sure you are getting enough rest, staying organized, and eating healthy. These will all help you be successful in your upcoming exams and projects.

All of the study guides are up on the blog and I have printed a paper copy for the classroom. If you have ANY questions about any of the material it is your responsibility to come and talk to me THIS WEEK. I will be happy to give you extra help or answer your questions.

During Math we completed our last lesson that will be on the exam. The rest of the week will focus on review and and an introduction to chapter 9. In Science we did a cool experiment to demonstrate the water cycle, students wrote a quiz on the water cycle, and we answered some questions about what happens to the precipitation that falls to Earth.

Here are some photos from our awesome beach clean up on Friday. Wonderful memories were made. Enjoy the snapshots! =)
