Happy Friday and Happy Easter Break!
This morning after our meditation we picked up where we left off yesterday in Science. We made a chart to helps us know how to find the volume of liquids vs regular and irregular shapes. Afterwards, during Math, we had an introduction to our new chapter on data and students did a pre-assessment so I could see what they already know and what needs to be focused on. In Social Studies we talked about The Marshall Plan and The United Nations. We always have such great discussions during our SS classes!
You have a couple of ongoing projects (Invention Convention, Step Into History Project, IXL Challenge) so this is the time to practice your time management and responsibility skills. Do some work each day and you will be fine. DO NOT leave it all until the end of the break or you will be stressed and won't be able to do as well.
Important Reminders:
*Please remember that next week is Easter Break so there is no school April 10-14.
*From April 17 to April 20 there will be a student council guessing game next to the office at recess. Each time you want to guess will be 20 NT. The prize is a whole jar of snacks for your class.
*I gave you the board for your Step into History project but you are responsible to buy two boards to put together for your Invention Convention Project.
*Some of you have still not shared your Invention Convention or Google Slides project with me. It needs to be shared asap please. fisher.disk@gmail.com
HOMEWORK:
*Reading Log - Read at least 10 minutes every day of break and have your parents sign each day. Please record what pages you read each day (for examples pg. 1-7)
Invention Convention Schedule:
April 10-14: (School Holiday) Work on your google docs, writing up the information that will go on your board. Come up with a cool name for your invention.
April 17: Bring your invention into school so that a few of your classmates can try it out and write testimonials for you. Add these testimonials (in quotation marks) to your google doc.
*Please share your google doc with me at fisher.disk@gmail.com
*Name your google doc following this format: Name Number Invention Convention
Example: Michael 6 Invention Convention
Step into History Biography Project:
Due dates are April 17 for the poster and speech and April 21 for the Google Slides and presentation
*All other information is on the Google Doc. If you have any questions please come and see me as soon as possible. DO NOT wait until the last minute!
*If you haven't already, please share your Google Slides with me at fisher.disk@gmail.com
IXL:
These are the IXL skills I would like you to focus on. The goal is to have them all mastered by Monday April 24, 2017. That's almost 3 weeks away, so if you try to do a skill every other day you should have no trouble finishing in time. If you finish before the due date, please come and show me so I can give you the marks.
