Quarter 2 Reading Exam Study Guide

The Quarter 2 Reading Exam will focus mainly on The Witches by Roald Dahl. You will be responsible for answering comprehension and inference questions about the story, using the ACE method. Be prepared to support your answers with evidence from the text. You will also be asked to make connections between the Reading lessons from quarter 1 and the story. For example, what is the conflict in the story, or what type of character is the narrator etc.

*Understand the meaning of Point of View and be able to differentiate between the different types
*Be able to explain which point of view each of the Journeys stories are told from
*Vocabulary: point of view, first person point of view, third person limited point of view, third person omniscient point of view, third person objective point of view

*Distinguish between mood, voice, and tone
*Determine the mood, tone and voice of a text
*Vocabulary: mood, tone, voice

 *Be able to summarize a part of, or the entire story.
* There will be some comprehension questions about the story so make sure you understand what happens and why.
*You must be able to answer the questions using the ACE method learned in class. *Be prepared to support your answers with evidence from the text.
